LETS PEOTECT THEM AND NOT JUST DELAYING THEIR EXTINCTION

Recently, the Government of Tanzania has been doing everything possible to protect its wildlife that are faced with a major threat of poaching. The most threatened animals with this challenge include Elephants, Rhinos and Wild hunting dogs that have been killed because of their horns or for other various human uses. In addition, the Tanzanian government has been receiving various aids from conservation agencies from both inside and outside the country for coping with this major threat of poaching that is probably the biggest abuse of natural resources of the current generation for the future generation.

Who is really our enemy? And what exactly is needed to deal with this tragedy that is going to rob us off our heritage? As the country is now favorable to consider the future of our resources so we can avoid what happened in Gambia land in 1913 where they witnessed their last elephant on their land in that year, apart from all the efforts made to save their disappearance.

As tourism and natural resources stakeholders, we are giving a reminder that all these efforts to protect these creatures should not in other ways perceived as a one way to delay their extinction and not to prevent them from being completely extinct. It's a good time now our communities should have been given conservation education and be aware of the major effects that are basically derived from poaching activities, as we believe that, even if we will receive billions money from donors that will not help us as we ourselves will not have enough education and realize the importance of conservation.

It is best to focus on young people as a young generation that if they are well educated they can be a catalyst of sustainable conservation for the benefit of the future generations. But  if we exclude young generation and not giving them the kind of education they need, they can be the main poison of sustainable conservation to our own resources by engaging themselves in poaching activities regarding the fact that young generation are subjected to many challenges including unemployment something which will not stop them from harm our resources for living.

We should all join effort to fight for our resources for the noble reason that, the future generation should also have use of them, and not just delaying their extinction for the benefits of the present generation only.
